Torre del Mare Architectural Park - Bergeggi - Casa Cagnoli - Meda
Da Vedere
Construction: 1959-1961
Location: Via Caravaggio, 21, 17028 Bergeggi SV
Builder: Tizzoni
The house is set on an imposing stone base, distinguished by three simple brick bands at the top and finished with a solid white masonry parapet with a brick coping; on the right side of the building is the access staircase.
The system of cantilevered white plaster structural walls, currently in excellent condition, recurs throughout.
The materials used include local stone, exposed concrete, and split quarry stone cladding.
Part of the divisions between exterior and interior, the canopies, and the knife-edged elements at the top of the retaining wall facing the road are made of off-site prepared exposed reinforced concrete lamellar elements.
The house structure resembles a reinforced concrete frame with closures; some of these are made of cavity wall bricks with split quarry stone cladding, and others are composed of lamellar concrete elements and window frames.
The attics are partly made of reinforced brick and partly of prefabricated concrete elements with cross-reinforced joists.
The living area includes four rooms plus toilets, a garage with an overhead storage room carved into the rock and a covered access staircase, wheras the roof is partially usable as a terrace and partly as a green roof.
