Torre del Mare Architectural Park - Bergeggi - Casa Candotti
Da Vedere
Construction: 1959-1961
Location: Via dei Pini, 6, 17028 Bergeggi SV
Builder: Tizzoni
The garden of the house borders that of Casa Reale.
The house is developed on two levels and was originally divided into two separate apartments, but today it has been merged into a single residence.
Architect Mario Galvagni, as recounted by his daughter Martina and the current owner, stayed in one of the two apartments while working at Torre del Mare.
The house is accessed directly from the street through a pedestrian gate.
The walls are partly clad in stone and partly white plastered, with a structure resembling a continuous wall of natural cement and exposed stones.
The roof was designed as a green terrace, with the attics made of reinforced brick, the floors Venetian-style and the exterior and interior plasters of a standard type.
The interior is a single space with toilets, divided by a "hearth element" (fireplace) and appropriate windows that separate the living-dining area from the bedroom, whereas the kitchen is adjacent to the small living room.
There is a garden covered by the overhang of the house's structure itself, which outside features a terraced articulation for the most part, and a protected porticoed area covered by the upper floor.
