Construction: 1959-1960
Location: Via Torre d’Ere, 5, 17028 Bergeggi SV
Builder: Tizzoni

The house is developed on three levels and is characterized by a prominent base clad in local natural stone, on which a complex system of balconies on three sides is set, featuring frontal moldings and overhead metal railings. The pedestrian access is directly from the street via a staircase that is accessed through a gate designed by Galvagni. Also on the ground floor are two garages carved into the rock. The exterior cladding is made of exposed concrete and natural stone. The structure consists of a reinforced concrete frame left exposed and colored with oxides, with the enclosing walls being partly natural stone and partly exposed concrete. The roof is designed as a walkable terrace; the slabs are made of reinforced brick; the floors are wooden (parquet) and Venetian-style; the existing interior plaster is of a standard civil type. It also features two garages carved into the solid rock. The lower floor consists of a single room complemented by a bathroom and a service kitchenette; the upper floor contains a living-dining room, two bedrooms, a small kitchen, and a bathroom equipped with standard sanitary fixtures. Thus, the house includes one room and toilets on the lower floor and three rooms with toilets on the upper floor. The spatial concept of the house aims to create covered and uncovered spaces up to the boundary of the lot for outdoor living. This way, the land is used in its entirety with a height delimitation subordinated to a system of steps (terraces) and horizontally in the plan by an open garden layout. Engineer Sarolli worked with the builder and was the one who introduced the young architect to Tizzoni, receiving two lots as recognition for his services. He built his villa on one of them, leaving the other free to avoid any "neighborhood" problems.
