The "Vallées des Merveilles" (Valley of Wonders) is part of the Mercantour National Park, in southeastern France, and is a valley at the foot of remarkable peaks of the Maritime Alps. It's a land inhabited since ancient times: in fact, more than thirty-five thousand prehistoric rock engravings have been discovered, including numerous figures of weapons (daggers and halberds) dating mainly to the Copper and Bronze Ages, up to more than 2000 years BCE.
This two-day trek will be a mix of discovering the awakening natural environment in spring and the history of the valley, with the observation of the rock engravings.
Overnight stay is planned in a mountain hut.
